Learn to interpret the standard practically.

The ISO/IEC 17025:2017 outlines the requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories but does not specify how to meet them. This means there are many possible paths to compliance. Which one is right for your organization?

In the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 training, we navigate this journey together. Discover how to interpret the standard and apply it to both system and technical criteria.

About the course

We kick off the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 training with an overview of the structure and key features of the standard. Then, we’ll update you on the requirements for quality management and technical aspects, such as contract review and risk management. During the course, we’ll also show you why the standard is not a burden, but a benefit—not just for you, but also for your colleagues. Learn how to raise awareness among laboratory staff.

The course doesn’t follow a fixed template. We want to understand the challenges you and your fellow participants are facing. With that input, we’ll tailor the content into a customized ISO/IEC 17025:2017 training. Want to know more about the course? Download the PDF at the bottom of this page or sign up right away.

“De tekst uit de norm is abstract en generiek geschreven en wij vertalen dit naar de praktijk. Door dat samen met de deelnemers te doen en voorbeelden te gebruiken, zorgen we voor een praktische normcursus.”

Mary Span, docent van de ISO/IEC 17025:2017 training.

Our approach

Without a mapped-out route, you won’t set out on your journey. After covering the basic theory, we will immediately translate what you’ve learned into practice—specifically, your practice. We’ll use examples that are familiar and relevant to what you encounter in the laboratory. What we won’t do is go through the entire standard word by word. It’s about understanding the text. What does it actually say? We’ll focus on specific sections of the standard that you want to explore further and have discussions about them. You can easily spend half an hour discussing just one sentence from the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard.
